The objective of this course is to demonstrate the various applications of these three universal software tools so that the students are capable of applying them within the scope of their individual graduate studies of forest sciences and forest ecology. |

Word processing (Word): Creation of different types of documents, formatting documents using styles, using equation editor, applying page and section breaks, creating simple and complex headers and footers, creating and managing tables, inserting end notes to the top and bottom of pages, creating table of contents, table of figures/Tables and index for a document, finishing of a complete formal document.
Spread sheet (Excel): Data types, automatic data entry and control, basic calculations on a spread sheet, making statistical calculations, writing equations with absolute and relative addressing, creating X-Y charts of different type, producing histograms, copying these diagrams into word processor, filtering the data, conducting macros, creating summary table and preparing summary charts.
Database (Access): Data entry, creating input form, designing table formats and field data types, defining key columns, querying the database with standard SQL comments
Presentation (Powerpoint): Creating presentation background, choosing the color-font coupling, Selecting the appropriate font size and color, animating the presentation
