The aim of the course:
The course aims to provide the students with a general knowledge on urban forestry, to teach them how to establish urban forests, and to explain the maintenance and importance of urban forests.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
Definition of urban forests and urban forestry, Conpect, approach and history of urban forestry, General properties of urban forests (ecological properties, benefits, etc.), Cost analysis in urban forestry, Planning and management of urban forests, Plant material, Installition of urban forests (survey of field, proparation, assessment of available vegetation, planting techniques, etc.), Protection and maintenance of urban forests (replanting, watering, fertilization and soil improving, supporting ,weeding and hoeing, pruning).Definition of pruning, aim and varieties, Pruning time, Pruning of trees and shrubs species, Pruning equipment.
