Education Objectives of the Programme :
1.Educate and graduate high-quality, knowledgeable, talented and modern metallurgy and materials engineers who will respond to changing needs of engineering technology with their interests through continuous innovation and life-long learning.
2.Educate and graduate metallurgy and materials engineers who handle and solve engineering problems in a systematic manner with the basic principles of engineering. analytical, experimental and computational skills
3.Educate and graduate engineers confident and entrepreneur engineers
4.Educate and graduate engineers having a strong communication skill and an ability to function in a team work.
5.Educate and graduate engineers having professional and ethical responsibilities and contemporary issues
 
Learning Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1: ability for the related subjects to mathematics, physical sciences and metallurgical and materials engineering; and apply these knowledge in modelling and solving engineering problems.
OP-2: ability for define, formulize and solve complex engineering problems related to metallurgical and materials engineering and choose the suitable modelling and analysis methods and implement them.
OP-3: ability for design a complex system, device or product by using modern disgn methods under realistic constraints and conditions in order to meet desired requirements
OP-4: ability for develop, choose and use the required modern techniques and tools for metallurgical and materials engineering applications; and use information technologies efficiently.
OP-5: ability for design and conduct experiments, gather data, and analyze and interprete the results for investigating the metallurgical and materials engineering problems.
OP-6: ability for work effectively in disciplinary and interdisciplinary teams; and work individually.
OP-7: ability for effectively communicate in Turkish orally and written, at least knowledge of a foreign language
OP-8: ability for aware of life-long learning; and access to knowledge; follow the developments in science and technology; andpersistently keep up to date.
OP-9: consciousness of professional and ethical responsibilities.
OP-10: the knowledge of practices in business life such as project, risk and change management; and aware of entrepreneurship, innovativeness, and sustainable development.
OP-11: the knowledge about the influence of metallurgical and materials engineering applications on health, environment and security together with the problems of the era in universal and social dimensions; and aware of the legal outcomes of engineering solutions.
OP-12: ability to understand science and engineering principles related to structure, properties, process and performance of materials and to combine and practise obtained information for solving the selection of materials or process and design problems
