The course aims to enable students to recognize generative and vegetative propagation techniques and to select appropriate propagation methods according to plant species, environmental conditions, production objectives, and the scale of application. Within the scope of the course, different propagation techniques are evaluated in terms of their advantages, limitations, success requirements, and application processes, with the aim of developing production strategies that ensure the highest efficiency and quality. |

| This course covers fundamental theoretical and practical knowledge regarding the production and cultivation processes of ornamental plants. Environmental factors affecting plant production are examined within the framework of light, temperature, humidity, water, soil, and growing medium characteristics. The effects of these factors on plant development, rooting, germination, and propagation success are evaluated. The course covers the characteristics of growing media, medium preparation, selection of propagation material, and preparation for production. Seed propagation and vegetative propagation methods in ornamental plants are discussed in detail. Propagation by cuttings, division, layering, and basic grafting techniques are evaluated in terms of application conditions, success criteria, advantages, and limitations. In addition, nursery and greenhouse systems, general characteristics of production areas, basic tools and equipment used in production processes, and determining the appropriate production method for different plant groups are covered. The course aims to enable students to acquire the skills to select the correct production technique for the propagation and cultivation of ornamental plants, evaluate application conditions, and make decisions to increase production success. |
