In this context, the course aims to discuss the objectives and actions relating to the planning and design of pedestrian spaces.

| This course examines human-environment interaction in pedestrian spaces, the characteristics of public pedestrian spaces, and the relationships these spaces establish with the city. The social, economic, cultural and spatial dimensions of public spaces are examined from multiple perspectives; pedestrianisation policies and their historical development are assessed. Throughout the course, different types of pedestrian spaces?such as main pedestrian axes, squares, streets, waterfront areas and green spaces?are analysed alongside pedestrian-vehicle interactions.
Furthermore, experiential pedestrian spaces within the context of theme parks and amusement parks are addressed; evaluations are made based on user experience, spatial design and diversity of activities. In addition, sustainable and user-centred design principles are discussed within the framework of socio-ecological approaches. Solutions to the spatial, social, cultural and economic challenges encountered in pedestrian spaces are being developed, and in this context, fundamental principles and criteria for the planning, design and organisation of pedestrian spaces are being established.
