- To provide students with an awareness of the notions of translation and translator based on real life,
- To develop an awareness concerning the proper use of Turkish in the translation process, which means producing a text that can exist in the Turkish target language and cultural system by its own within the context of translations from English into Turkish; to contribute to such skills of students through translation practices,
- To enhance students' awareness of the relationship between translation and culture; to raise their consciousness of the roles they can play in intercultural communication as an expert.
- To improve students' consciousness and competence regarding "text production/writing" in general.

| This course focuses on the role of translators as intercultural communication experts within the context of intercultural communication. The course scope includes theoretical readings on cultural differences, intercultural encounters, and their impact on the act of translation. In parallel with the theoretical background, translation practices are carried out where translators are positioned as active communication experts. Additionally, practical studies on text production and the effective use of Turkish constitute the main themes of the course. |
