| This course explores key areas of linguistics, including pragmatics and the study of speaker meaning in utterances, discourse analysis, neurolinguistics and the relationship between language and the brain, first language acquisition and its developmental stages, second language acquisition with a focus on factors contributing to interlanguage, language history and change, regional and social variation in language, and the interconnectedness of language and culture. |
