The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to provide students with an in-depth understanding of advanced linguistic concepts and the multi-layered nature of language by examining fundamental topics such as pragmatics, discourse analysis, first and second language acquisition, language change, and sociolinguistics, and to develop their ability to analyze the individual, cognitive, and social aspects of language, interpret context-based meaning, examine discourse structure, and evaluate linguistic diversity and change from a scientific perspective.

Contents of the Course
This course explores key areas of linguistics, including pragmatics and the study of speaker meaning in utterances, discourse analysis, neurolinguistics and the relationship between language and the brain, first language acquisition and its developmental stages, second language acquisition with a focus on factors contributing to interlanguage, language history and change, regional and social variation in language, and the interconnectedness of language and culture.
