The aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to understand the basic dynamics of the developments taking place in the Mediterranean world in a holistic structure and to identify the differences between regions. It is aimed to examine the developments specific to the Mediterranean world around the general trends of the period.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : examine general and regional dynamics together in the Mediterranean world in modern times.1,41
PO - 2 : determine the effects of the developments in the fields of transportation and communication in the 19th century on the Mediterranean weather.2,3,4
PO - 3 : discuss the political, social and economic developments that took place in the Mediterranean world together with the Industrial Revolution and Imperialism processes. 2,3,41
PO - 4 : identify nationalism and state-building processes at the regional level

The political, social and economic developments that took place in the Mediterranean between 1800 and 1914 constitute the content of the course.
