The aim of the course:
This course provides an overview of the historical, economic, cultural, political and religious background of Trabzon. İn addition, it examines the different cultures associated with the region, as well as the changes that took place over time.
 
Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : They will understand how Trebizond has transformed from a small settlement area into the domain of all states.
PO - 2 : Students will learn about the languages, religions, and races that have shaped Trebizond' s history
PO - 3 : They will master the historical and cultural heritage left to Trebizond by the Trebizond Empire and the Ottoman Empire.
PO - 4 : They will have information about the Ottoman state and city structure in Trebizond.
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
The content of the course is the cultural and political formations that prevailed in the region following the foundation of the city. In this direction, the historical and cultural heritage of the city will be discussed and XV-XVIII. By examining the Ottoman dominance in the region in the centuries, information about the identity of an Ottoman city will be given.
