Education Objectives of the Programme :
The main objective of the PhD Program in Marine Transportation Management Engineering is to provide the knowledge required by the rapidly developing science and technology, to provide the necessary knowledge in parallel with the developing technology and to train marine engineers equipped with maritime skills that can transfer this knowledge to practice and have the ability to analyze and analyze when necessary.
 
Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1: To be able to develop current and academic knowledge in the field, to produce original values that will bring innovation to the field, to gain academic skills in using research methods. To be able to develop and deepen the advanced theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of transportation and its sub-fields, to have a command of domestic and foreign information sources in the relevant field.
OP-2: To be able to comprehend the interdisciplinary interaction with which the field is related, to reach original results by analysis, synthesis and evaluation, to lead effectively and efficiently in interdisciplinary studies To be able to distinguish (perceive) the developments and problems in transportation and its sub-fields and to develop critical thinking for solutions, to anticipate, to use metacognitive strategies effectively in problem solving and decision making processes.
OP-3: Has extensive and in-depth knowledge, including current issues in his field, can evaluate and use this information with a systematic approach. To be able to share original ideas, developments and scientific studies in the basic and sub-fields of transportation in national and international scientific and social platforms with the relevant stakeholders in written and verbal form with a focus on results and solutions.
OP-4: Gaining high-level skills in researching, applying, developing and using research methods on an original subject that brings innovation to the field.
OP-5: To be able to examine, develop and research all processes related to the field with a critical perspective, to defend original views in the discussion of the subjects in the field of interest and to communicate effectively in a way that demonstrates competence in the field, to be able to lead
OP-6: To be able to communicate at an advanced level in written, oral and visual communication by using a foreign language at least at the B2 Level of the European Language Portfolio, and able to discuss
OP-7: Recognizes scientific, technological and cultural advances in the field, can use information and communication technologies and contribute to its development. To be aware of the philosophy and opportunities of lifelong learning in effectively following the current developments in the field and evaluates the relevant resources.
OP-8: To be able to interact by using strategic decision-making processes in solving problems related to the field, to contribute to the solution of scientific, cultural and ethical problems and to support their development.
OP-9: Contribute to the literature in the field by publishing at least one scientific article related to the field in international indexed journals (SCI-e, SSCI, ESCI) and/or by producing or interpreting an original work.
