FOUNDATION & HISTORY  
With the decision of Higher Education Council dated 22.04.2020 and numbered 75850160, our departments were established. In 2022-2023 academic year, pharmacy services program started to provide education with the quota of 40 people in Maçka Vocational School.
QUALIFICATION AWARDED  
The students who have successfully completed all of the thought courses of the programme with 120 ECTS credits and achieved a CGPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are given Short Cycle Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with the title of "Pharmacy Services Techniciant"

ADMISSION & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS  
1 - High school or equivalent school diploma, 2 - Obtaining the required grade from Undergraduate Placement Exam
OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME  
he Pharmacy Services program is designed to educate the intermediate staff needed by our pharmacies and the pharmaceutical industry serving to our people in our country in a scientific environment, and to train the employees who have acquired the necessary skills and knowledge. Thus, a high quality service will be provided and employment opportunities will be provided to the people of the country.
RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING  
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.

In this Directive,

- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.

Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REGULATIONS  
Students who successfully complete all the courses in the program (equivalent to 120 ECTS), obtain at least 2.0 weighted grade point average over 4.00, and pass the internship report prepared by their 40- work day professional internship can obtain a Short Cycle Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with the title of "Pharmacy Services Techniciant".
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS  
Midterm, semester work (internships, seminars, quizzes, homework, or a second mid-term) and the final exam applied to students for each course. The contribution of midterm and semester work to success grade is 50% and final examination is 50%. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Students must take at least 45 points to the final exam. Students who take (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) letter grades are considered to have managed the course. At the end of each semester, students can take make-up exam of at all courses of that semester.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS  
Students who successfully complete all the courses in the program (equivalent to 120 ECTS), obtain at least 2.0 weighted grade point average over 4.00, and pass the internship report prepared by their 40-work day professional internship can obtain a Short Cycle Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences with the title of "Pharmacy Services Techniciant".
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES of GRADUATES  
Health professionals graduated from this department can work as trained assistant intermediate staff in pharmacies, public and private hospitals, pharmaceutical warehouses, medical sector and workplaces in various fields including the pharmaceutical industry
ACCESS to FURTHER STUDIES  
Students who graduate from this program can complete their undergraduate education by gaining the right to continue in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and also Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry departments with the vertical transfer exam (DGS) organized by OSYM
