This course examines Balkan states' relations with each other and with Türkiye in terms of the historical, geographical, and demographic characteristics of the Balkans. The course gives a strong emphasis on the conflicts and wars in the Balkans, especially during the breakup of Yugoslavia, and on the legacy of all these developments. The course also focuses on the Balkans' relations with the European Union and NATO as well as current developments in the region. |
