The aim of the course:
This course aims to explain the relationship between behavior and the brain to first-year psychology students. It will also address how the chemical and electrical processes involved in this relationship are connected to behavior, emotions, and cognitive processes.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : know the definition of physiological psychology, its scope and its contribution to the psychology.11,
LO - 2 : identify neurological and physiological processes underlying human behavior, cognitive processes, and emotions.21,
LO - 3 : develop a multidisciplinary perspective while adhering to ethical principles at the intersection of neuroscience, biology, and psychology.5,111,
LO - 4 : become familiar with fundamental research in the field of physiological psychology and develop a critical perspective by following advancements in the field.101,
LO - 5 : understand the biological foundations of psychological and neurological disorders and recognise treatment methods. 2,31,

Contents of the Course
The physiological psychology course provides information about the physiological and neurological processes underlying human behavior, emotions, and cognitive processes. In this context, it investigates the role of the nervous system, neurotransmitters, and hormones. This course also helps to understand the biological sources of psychological and neurological disorders and introduces treatment methods.
