Electricity generation from conventional power plants (hydraulic, thermal, nuclear). Basic operating principles of hydraulic, thermal and nuclear power plants, World energy outlook and Turkey's situation. Features, designs, installations and uses of renewable energy systems (YES) such as photovoltaic (PV) and wind energy systems (RES). Use of Asynchronous and Synchronous Generators in wind energy systems. Modeling and simulation of PV and RES. Integration of YES to grid and loads, converters used for this purpose and control of these converters. MPPT control in PV and RES and strategies for optimum management of renewable energy systems. |
