The aim of the course:
To be able to gain the ability of commenting on social, geographical and grammatical variation and improvements Turkish has undergone historically; To train qualified people who will be able to do works about Turkish language and history.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : increase their knowledge about Turkish language, history and culture. 1,41,3,6,
PO - 2 : examine great language families theories and the relationship of Turkish with other languages.3,51,3,6,
PO - 3 : know differentiations and reasons that has happened to Turkish to distinguish stratifications. 7,81,3,6,
PO - 4 : realize the differences in Turkish language and understand the reasons as well as distinguish between layers. 5,83,5,6,
PO - 5 : make use of the theoretical knowledge they have learned in class while carrying out research and they will be able to make their own comments about subject.7,81,5,6,

Contents of the Course
Historical situation of Turkish language; periods of Turkish language and it's situation before Christ; Turkish' language family and it's relation with other languages; the quality of language in light of developments and changes of language conventional to historical periods; language and fashion features of that period's works.

 Week 3Periods of Turkish language and its position B.C.
 Week 4Products of Turkish language and literature before Islamism; language and stylistic features
 Week 5General language features of the Old Turkish Period, general qualifications of vocabulary, expressions feature, foreing effects
 Week 6Products of Turkish language and literature after the acceptance of Islam in the Middle Asia, Egypt and Syria; language stylistic features
 Week 7The Old Anatolian Turkish language and stylistic features, qualification of vocabulary; foreign effects; the qualification of products
 Week 8General qualification of the language in Ottoman Turkish Period, products and products' language and stylistic features

 Week 10The sources and the reflections of foreign effects in the Ottoman Turkish Periods (Arabian and Persian effects)
