IMBL7770 | Border Perception in Space | 3+0+0 | ECTS:7.5 | Year / Semester | Spring Semester | Level of Course | Second Cycle | Status | Elective | Department | DEPARTMENT of INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE | Prerequisites and co-requisites | None | Mode of Delivery | Face to face | Contact Hours | 14 weeks - 3 hours of lectures per week | Lecturer | Prof. Dr. Funda KURAK AÇICI | Co-Lecturer | | Language of instruction | Turkish | Professional practise ( internship ) | None | | The aim of the course: | The boundary that are present in every dimension of life in physical, sensual, and perceptual will be conceptualized and defined and thus the relation between space and boundary will be explored. The space gains its meaning with the people using it and the people do it themselves as well as with the boundaries they created around themselves. The students who can perceive the relation between boundary-human and space are expected to solve the spatial design problems with all their dimensions. |
Programme Outcomes | CTPO | TOA | Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to : | | | PO - 1 : | Perceive the concept of boundary in nature , philosophy and architecture | 1,2,5,8 | 3,5, | PO - 2 : | Understand the concepts of boundary and space and their relations | 1,2,5,8 | 3, | PO - 3 : | Qestion the human behaviour in spatial dimensıon and comprehend | 1,2,5,8 | 6, | CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome | |
The definition, scope and historical account of the concept of boundary will be explained and their effects on nature architecture and philosopy will be emphasized. The place and significance of the concept of boundary in architecture will be covered and following this, the relation between boundary and space will be discussed and natural and artificial boundary will be examined. Finally, bahavior and spatial behaviour will be studied in terms of different space types |
