The aim of the course:
The course aims to analyse mathematical models developed for biological processes.

Contents of the Course
Population models, Nicholson-Bailey model, other Host-Parasitoid models, Host-Parasite model, Predator-Prey model, population genetics models, nonlinear structured models, measles model with vaccination, local stability in first-order nonlinear equations, phase line diagrams, local stability in first-order nonlinear systems, phase plane analysis, periodic solutions, bifurcations, delay logistic equation, stability using qualitative matrix stability, global stability and Liapunov functions, persistence and extinction theory, harvesting a single population, competition models, spruce budworm model, metapopulation and patch models, chemostat model, epidemic models, excitable systems, continuous age-structured model, reaction-diffusion equations, equilibrium and traveling wave solutions, critical patch size, spread of genes and traveling waves, pattern formation, integrodifference equations.
