The aim of the course:
Objective of the course is to gain ability of processing the data relation to research subjects of graduate students.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : apply Fourier series and transformation to geophysical data2,4
PO - 2 : apply Z and Hilbert transforms to geophysical data2,4
PO - 3 : perform analysis of signal and noise from real data in time and frequency domain2,4
PO - 4 : realize filtering, windowing and correlation process to data2,4
PO - 5 : gain programming ability and developing an algorithm to solute for different geophysical problems by using Fortran and MatLab software2,4

Contents of the Course
Linear and nonlinear systems, Digital signal analysis, Fourier series, 1D and 2D discrete and fast Fourier transform and spectrum concepts, Hilbert and Z transforms, Linear fitler types, 1D and 2D fitler design in time and frequency domain, frequency-wavenumber (f, k) filters, Window types and windowing, Convolution-Deconvolution, Correlations, Wiener deconvolution structures, Fortran and MatLab applications of all topics
