The aim of the course:
This course is designed to present an introduction to the general concept of Ecology. It covers the major levels of ecological thought: Ecosystems, communities, populations, species and specific habitats.

Contents of the Course
Definition. Subdivisions and related models of Ecology, basic concepts of Ecology. Elements of ecosystems, habitat and ecological niche, ecological cycles. Population ecology, interaction among communities. Biosphere and its features. Temperature, water and light needs of organisms, soil and its features. Terrestrial, Ocean?s, and Freshwater ecosystems and special ecosystems (Lagoons, corals etc. ) . Biodiversity, conservation biology and ethic
