The aim of the course:
To learn the basic concepts of labor law, to have information about the problems to be encountered in business life, to learn the rights of the employee and the employer, to have an idea about how the employment contract is established and terminated, to understand how labor lawsuits work.
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Will be able to explain basic individual labor law concepts such as worker, employer, workplace.
LO - 2 : Types of individual employment contract, establishment, termination; will have detailed information about the employer and employee rights, debts and obligations arising from this contract.
LO - 3 : Will be able to explain and evaluate the relative imperative provisions regarding working conditions.
LO - 4 : Will have in-depth knowledge of the control of business life and criminal sanctions
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
General information about labor law, application area of labor law in terms of individuals, definition and types of employment contract, employee's debts arising from employment contract, employer's debts arising from employment contract, termination of employment contract, termination for just cause, termination for just cause, working periods, compulsory mediation.
