The aim of the course:
To teach detailed information about diesel engine, diesel combustion and combustion reactions. To Teach practical calculation of combustion products

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Contents of the Course
Investigation of marina engine system/ Investigation of combustion process in marina engines/ Emission formation; investigation of combustion products and reactions/ Preparation of computer code for determination of combustion products/ The effects of exhaust emissions on environment, human being and engine / Governmental regulations on exhaust emissions in the world/ Calculation of exhaust emissions and various numerical applications

 Week 3Investigation of combustion in ship machines (diesel engines and gasoline engines).
 Week 4Emission formation:Investigation of the formation mechanism of NO and CO in internal combustion engines and Doing experimental study for measuring of NO.
 Week 5Emission formation:Investigation of the formation mechanism of HC and soot in internal combustion engines and Doing experimental study for measuring of K Factor.
 Week 6Modeling of combustion and emissions formation: Combustion model and calculation of combustion products.
 Week 7Modeling of combustion and emissions formation:Detailed calculation of combustion products and combining of this calculation method with the combustion model.
 Week 8Preparing computer code for combustion products and engine cycles.
