The aim of the course:
Environmental problems constitute one of the main items on the contemporary global political agenda. Global environmental problems observed in various forms such as climate crisis, biodiversity loss, pollution, deforestation, etc. jeopardize the sustainability of the environment by causing a number of problems in political, economic, social and environmental dimensions. In this context, the aim of the ?Global Environmental Politics? course is to provide students with a vision that will enable them to understand and critically analyze the common heritage of humanity, the relationship between globalization and the environment, global environmental regimes and green ideologies, green politics and actors of global environmental politics, major environmental agreements and conventions, climate change, biodiversity loss and deforestation, energy and water crisis, food security, waste management and sustainability.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Will be able to understand and communicate the political, economic, social and cultural dimensions of globalization and its effects on the environment.5,81,5,
LO - 2 : Gain critical thinking skills and awareness about environmental regimes, green ideologies and global environmental governance and the political actors in this process.5,81,5,
LO - 3 : Interpret a range of quantitative and qualitative research findings on pressing global environmental issues such as climate change and biodiversity.5,81,5,
LO - 4 : Familiarize themselves with debates and current developments on environmental issues.5,81,5,

Contents of the Course
The relationship between environment and politics; common heritages of humanity; globalization process and its reflections on the environment; global environmental regimes and governance; actors of global environmental politics; global environmental problems; global energy, water and food crisis; sustainable development.
