The aim of the course:
To instruct the evaluation of the effects of earthquakes in terms of geotechnical engineering.

Contents of the Course
Introduction: earthquakes and seismology, Dynamic properties of soils, Liquefaction, Seismic slope stability, Seismic design of retaining structures, Settlements due to earthquakes, Bearing capacity analysis for the foundations under earthquake forces, Soil improvement in reducing the seismic hazards.
