The aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to get the students acquainted with the biologies, systematics, morphologies and ecologies of the unicellular organisms known as Protist.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Become familiar with protistology terminology1,2,31,3,
PO - 2 : Describe the morphology and life cycle of protist of pathogenic and parasitic importance.1,2,31,3
PO - 3 : Know the basic structural, biological and ecological features that distinguish the major groups of entomopathogenic protists present in insects.1,2,31,3
PO - 4 : Document the methods and results each laboratory exercise and organize laboratory data.1,2,31,3

Contents of the Course
Introduction, overview of Protozoa, characteristic features of Rhizopoda, Sporozoa, Mastigophora and Ciliophora, some important protozoa (genus and species level) , entomopathogenic protozoa, ultrastructural characteristics based on electron microscopy and cytology, life cycles of some parasitic forms and host-relationship, ecology of Protozoa and some experimental course
