The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to comprehensively examine the period from the birth of Islamic history to the fall of the Abbasids within its historical context and to enable students to develop critical analysis skills regarding the political, religious, social, and cultural structures of Islamic societies. The course aims to introduce the historical process along with its primary sources, evaluate the role of these sources in historical writing, and provide knowledge and skills for the methodological analysis of historical data.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Periodization of Islamic history: The student can understand the period from the birth of Islamic history to the fall of the Abbasids within its historical context and summarize its main features.2 - 31,
LO - 2 : Critical analysis skills: The student can evaluate the political, religious, social, and cultural structures of Islamic societies from a critical perspective.1,
LO - 3 : Source evaluation skills: Students can identify historical sources, analyze their role in historical writing, and evaluate their reliability.1,
LO - 4 : Methodological historical analysis: Students can examine and interpret historical data using a methodological approach and form their own historical conclusions.1,

Contents of the Course
This course examines the period from the birth of the Prophet Muhammad to the fall of the Abbasids, exploring the political, religious, social, and cultural structures of Islamic societies in light of historical sources and critical methods.
