The aim of the course:
The course aims to provide education on general pharmacology and general knowledge about the drugs affecting several systems (Gastrointestinal system, Cardiovascular system, Endocrine system etc. ) of the human body

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : know the general principles of pharmacology and general knowledge about the drugs used in treatment of diseases and should experience on using these drugs on their occupations.1,2,3,41
LO - 2 : explain autonomic nervous system physiology and classify medicals used about this system.41
LO - 3 : classify the medicals which are used in cardiovascular disorders and explain their complications41
LO - 4 : classfy the medicals which are used in central nervous system physiology and explain it.41
LO - 5 : identify basic application principles of chemotherapatics and figure out their properties.41

Contents of the Course
Introduction to general pharmacology, pharmaceutical forms of drugs, routes of drug administration, mechanisms of drug action, pharmacokinetics of the drug (absorption, distribition, drug metabolism and exretion) factors modifying drug action, drug interaction (pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic) adverse effects of the drug, drug toxcity and treatment, drugs affecting fluid and electrolyte balance and agents affecting acid-base balance, vitamines, drug affecting respiratory system (antiastahmatic drugs, antitussives and expectorants) , GIS pharmacology (laxatives and purgatives, antiemetic drugs, antidierrheal drugs and drus used fort he treatment of the peptic ulcer) , cardiovasculer system pharmacology (antihypertensive drugs, drugs used fort he treatment of heart failure, antianginal drugs) , chemotherapeutıics, antiseptics and desenfectants, drugs affecting ectoparasities, endocrine system pharmacology (sex hormones, antidiabetics and antithiroid drugs) , non-steroidal antiinflamatory drugs and narcotic (opioid) analgesics, drug abuse and drug dependence, alchols.
