The aim of the course:
At the end of this course, it is aimed to transfer professional communication knowledge to nursing care environments and to establish effective therapeutic communication with healthy and sick people.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Define basic concepts related to professional communication.12,171,
LO - 2 : Distinguish the differences between professional communication and social communication.12,131,
LO - 3 : Recognize the importance of self-awareness and assertive behavior in the nurse-patient relationship.10,12,131,
LO - 4 : Define the elements of professional communication and develop the elements that are lacking in it.12,131,
LO - 5 : Will be able to use therapeutic communication skills in nursing care environments where they provide services.121,4,
LO - 6 : Will be able to use therapeutic communication skills in special situations such as crying patient, terminally ill patient, giving bad news, hospitalization, anxious individual, angry individual, individual in pain, etc.12,131,4,
LO - 7 : Will be able to effectively cope with problems experienced in nurse-patient relationships and other interdisciplinary communication in care environments.12,13,141,4,

Contents of the Course
Mesleki iletişimin unsurlarını, mesleki iletişime etki eden faktörleri, insan ihtiyaçlarını doğru tanımayı, mesleki iletişimde öz farkındalığın önemi, sosyal ve mesleki iletişim arasındaki farkları, terapötik iletişim becerilerini, nonterapötik yaklaşımları, bireysel tepkileri anlama ve bunlarla baş etmenin önemi, özel durumlarda etkili iletişim (kötü haber verme, ağlayan hasta, ölümcül hasta, sürekli talepleri olan hasta, yaşlı hasta, çocuk hasta, ağrısı olan hasta, kaygılı hasta, öfkeli hasta vb.), çatışma ve kriz yönetimi konularını içerir.
