Education Objectives of the Programme :
The aim of the Forestry Engineering Doctoral Program is to train competent researchers and scientists who can produce original knowledge in the fields of forestry science and engineering, conduct advanced theoretical and applied research, develop scientific methods and techniques, and assume academic and sectoral leadership at national and international levels.
The program aims to train doctoral experts who can conduct in-depth analyses with multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approaches in areas such as the protection, sustainable management, planning, and operation of forest ecosystems; climate change, biodiversity, ecosystem services, timber and non-timber forest products, watershed management, and natural resource policies, and who can develop innovative and original solutions.
Within the scope of the doctoral program, students are expected to develop advanced research design, scientific ethics, academic publication production, project development and management, critical thinking, and scientific leadership skills to a high level. Accordingly, the program aims to train its graduates to be experts who develop strategies, produce policies, and take on guiding roles in public, private sector, and international organizations, in addition to academic careers.
