Education Objectives of the Programme :
To train qualified health technicians who can provide basic and advanced life support to patients and victims in pre-hospital emergency health services, recognize all kinds of system trauma and apply appropriate emergency care, and ensure that patients or injured patients who have received first aid can reach hospitals safely by ambulance.
 
Learning Outcomes of the Programme :
Upon successful completion of this programme, students will be able to :
OP-1: Understands basic and clinical professional knowledge on emergency health services and emergency patient care, and has the ability to implement medical treatment and care plans in the field with this knowledge.
OP-2: Understands basic and clinical information in the fields of human anatomy and physiology and uses medical terminology specific to the field correctly.
OP-3: Knows the drugs to be administered in emergency situations, their mechanisms of action and the ways of administration of these drugs, and has the skills of drug administration and intervention.
OP-4: She/he has knowledge of basic information technologies, technical equipment, ambulance equipment, devices and tools related to her/his field and uses them in accordance with the case.
OP-5: Based on her/his basic and clinical knowledge in her/his field, she applies emergency care and rescue interventions by using body mechanics correctly when necessary.
OP-6: In case of emergency, he/she appropriately plans and manages the first and emergency aid techniques for the patient/victim and performs emergency care intervention for the detected problem.
OP-7: Knows system diseases and performs the necessary emergency care by detecting and analyzing the correct diagnosis in emergencies of system diseases.
OP-8: Analyzes the problems encountered in applications using the knowledge and skills acquired in the field, and takes individual responsibility when necessary by participating independently and/or within the team in the studies planned for the solution.
OP-9: She/he updates the knowledge, skills and competencies she has acquired in her field with a lifelong learning awareness and participates in the necessary professional in-service training activities, project production and management programs and other studies needs to improve herself/himself personally and professionally.
OP-10: It works in effective communication and cooperation with patients, patient relatives, physicians, other health professionals and 112 call centers.
OP-11: Comprehends Turkish and a foreign language at least at the European Language Portfolio A2 general level, follows information about developments in the field at national and international levels, and can communicate effectively with colleagues.
OP-12: Uses computer software at least at the Basic Level of the European Computer Usage License and the information and communication technologies required by the field.
OP-13: He knows the laws, regulations and legislation regarding his duties, rights and responsibilities within the framework of the authority given by the legislation, and acts in accordance with the rules of professional ethics while applying the guidelines recognized by the medical authorities and the flow charts specified by the legislation during intervention to emergency patients and injured people.
OP-14: Acts in accordance with quality management and processes and participates in these processes.
OP-15: Has sufficient awareness about environmental protection, occupational health and safety, public health and healthy living.
