FOUNDATION & HISTORY  
Craft show, student registration for the 2002-2003 academic period, which started in 2004, gave its first graduates. This program within the Department of Technical Programs, in 2009, according to ISCED-97 system as a result of the newly created structure within the Department of Handicrafts in Traditional Crafts Program is ongoing.
QUALIFICATION AWARDED  
The program is available (for a total of 120 ECTS) of courses successfully completed and obtained a CGPA of at least 2.00 on a 4.00 in the professional internship is given to students who complete associate's degree in the field of Traditional Crafts. Given the scope of this diploma degree, the European Qualifications Framework level of education corresponds to the fifth level.

ADMISSION & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS  
The admission and registration requirements for this program are made within the scope of the Turkish Higher Education Legislation. Placement is carried out by OSYM. The registration requirements are the same as for the Admission System to Higher Education.
OBJECTIVE of THE PROGRAMME  
Since the day mankind civilizations that have lived and live in nested crafts. Given the general sense of human, food, shelter, hunting, clothing, decoration, handicrafts and entertainment as well as serving the needs of all its products have benefited. High value of art and crafts, national and traditional value of the works are carried high. Due to the nature of some arts, crafts, if there are imperative in maintaining. RECOGNATION of PRIOR LEARNING  
The "Directive on Recognition of Prior Learning", Senate Decision No. 340 issued on July 28, 2023, has been accepted and entered into force regarding the students registered in all programs of Karadeniz Technical University to determine the principles to be followed for the recognition, crediting, and adaptation of the achievements acquired by the students at non-university institutions.

In this Directive,

- recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired with special interest through an exemption exam to be substituted as program courses,
- recognition of workplace and internship experiences through portfolio evaluation to be substituted as program courses,
- and the crediting of certificates received from accredited institutions regarding students' special interests are covered.

Announcements of courses included in the scope of recognition of prior learning, applications, and evaluation will be made on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Recognition of prior learning will offer numerous benefits to our students and employers. For our students, increasing professional development and mobility in the labour market, preventing repetition of education and waste of time, providing early graduation, reducing the cost of learning, encouraging learning, and increasing the student's motivation and self-confidence can be counted among the benefits of recognition of prior learning. From the employers' perspectives, it will contribute to satisfying skill or competence deficiencies in the workplace, reducing the time employees spend outside the workplace for training purposes, and thus using resources more efficiently.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS and REGULATIONS  
Two years (four semesters) long with a professional internship in the educational programs have successfully completed all courses, students will receive bachelor degree.
EXAMINATION, ASSESSMENT and GRADING REGULATIONS  
Mid-term exam and a final exam for each course, students are subjected to. The mid-term exam 50% and final exam is 50% of the contribution. All exams are graded out of 100 points is considered absolute. Final exam, students are required to obtain at least 40 points. Final notes relative evaluation system (BDS) converted into letter grades. (AA), (BA), (BB), (CB) and (CC) that the students are considered successful one, FF, FD, DD, letter grades that the students remain, DC letter grade to pass a course to be 2.00 and above grade point average must be at that time. Make-up exam at the end of each semester the students may take all of the courses they have failed.
GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS  
The program is available (for a total of 120 ECTS) successfully completed all courses and at least 2.00 on a 4.00 weighted grade point average of internship report prepared by obtaining a passing grade by completing his internship and professional students who are eligible to become associate degree graduates.
OCCUPATIONAL PROFILES of GRADUATES  
Students who graduate from traditional arts and crafts area, chosen branch / professions in line with qualifications earned in El or the instructor can work as master trainers in the field of arts, social services, depending on where rehabilitation work as a trainer, a natural dye workshops, engaged in stone processing workshops, wood processing workshops producing , who örücülük herbal workshops or sector, carpet pattern, preparing businesses, tourist attractions and souvenir manufacturing enterprises, enterprises engaged in production patterns, laser-cut applique companies, fashion houses, textile firms, furnishing stores, home textile businesses, their own workplace or at home, etc. . work places.
ACCESS to FURTHER STUDIES  
The graduates of this program for two years and, at the end of exams conducted by ÖSYM vertical transmission may continue to graduate programs in the field of Traditional Crafts. In addition, all parts of the third class of graduates from the Open Education Faculty of Economics and Business Administration degree completion and facilities are available to continue.

DEPARTMENTAL FACILITIES :
