The aim of the course:
The main objectives of this course are to provide the studenst with a wide knowledge on the widely used equipment at seafood processing plants and also train them to gain ability to obtain best choice on the suitable equipment for required purposes for the processing plants.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Select the best required equipment for a new future seafood processing plants and prepare the technical specifications for equipments that are intended to be boought1,4,5,6,12,16,17,18,191,3,5,6

Contents of the Course
Equipments used for preparation of seafood prior to processing (equipments used for fish heading & gutting, seafood washing, filleting machine, pin-bone removing machine, fish skinning equipment, seafood sorting machines), Seafood product shaping machines (flesh-bone separators, fish shaping equipment and apparatus, cutting machines, filling equipment, coating machines), Canning equipment (autoclaves, can sealmer, can washers etc.), Seafood mechanical dryers and smoking machines, Equipments used for freezing and chilling (Freezers, chilled rooms, ice makers), Packaging equipment (vacuum and modified atmosphere packaging equipment, and other packaging machines, scales and equipment for labelling). Equipments for hygiene and sanitation, Equipment used for other purposes (High Pressure Processing equipment, metal detectors, depuration tanks for muscles etc.).
