The aim of the course:
The main objectives of this course are to provide the student with a clear presentation of the concepts and principles of seas and oceans physical properties.

Contents of the Course
Definitions, Geological and sedimantological properties of ocean and seas basins. Physical properties of seawater. Heat budged of oceans, stratification, tide, currents and waves in the oceans. Oceanographic properties of Mediterranean, Aegean, Marmora and Black sea. Research processes. Ocean and sea concept, pilot charts. Topography of the ocean bottom, shores, Physical and chemical properties of seawater. Air sea interactions. Meteorological forces on the sea condition. Oceanographic properties of Mediterranean, Aegean, Marmora and Black sea.
