The aim of the course:
To elucidate classification criteria by performing detailed silvicultural analysis of old-growth forests.
 
Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Have knowledge about how plantations should be established
PO - 2 : Have knowledge about where plantations should be established
PO - 3 : Make detailed silvicultural analysis in the development stages of plantations
PO - 4 : Have knowledge about silvicultural practices in plantation forests in Turkey
PO - 5 : Synthesize silvicultural applications in plantation forests.

Contents of the Course
Basic concepts, definition of plantation forest, main criteria plantation forest, definition the formation and development stages of plantation forests, maintenance of planted forests, pruning in plantation forests, plantation forests and existing plants in Turkey, the natural forests in systems with plantation to make the application in the forest, past the silvicultural practices of plantation forests, silvicultural results and recommendations.
