The aim of the course:
Westernization in Turkey, the state, the power and the social identity of the intellectual will be examined.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Learns the late Ottoman intellectual life from basic sources.2 - 4
PO - 2 : Gains information about the last period of Ottoman thought and intellectuals.2 - 4
PO - 3 : Will be able to analyze the debates that developed within the framework of the concept of the West in Ottoman-Turkish modernization.2 - 4
