The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to develop students competence in analyzing and interpreting quantitative research data using statistical methods. The course enables students to effectively use SPSS statistical software for data entry, management, and the application of basic and advanced statistical analyses, and to evaluate findings within a scientific framework. Furthermore, the course aims to equip students with the ability to conduct reliability and validity analyses of measurement instruments, select appropriate parametric and non-parametric tests, and present statistical results in accordance with academic reporting standards.

Programme OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : Formulate basic statistical analyses used in social science research3 - 71,3,
PO - 2 : Run and interpret basic statistical analyses using SPSS.3 - 71,3,
PO - 3 : Interpret statistical analysis results accurately3 - 71,3,
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), PO : Learning Outcome

Contents of the Course
This course provides an applied approach to the statistical analysis of quantitative research data. Using SPSS statistical software, students learn variable definition, data entry procedures, and data management techniques. Descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation), homogeneity measures, and normality tests are covered. Reliability and validity analyses are conducted to evaluate measurement instruments. Both parametric tests (t-test, ANOVA) and non-parametric tests (Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis H) are examined comparatively. Correlation and regression analyses are applied to analyze relationships between variables. The course adopts a practice-oriented structure aimed at developing students competence in interpreting and reporting statistical findings.
