The aim of the course:
The aim of the food technology department is to provide students with the knowledge and skills in basic computer use and common computer applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint etc.), to gain knowledge about the correct and useful use of the internet. To gain competence in conducting research, collecting data, analyzing and evaluating the results by using computers and the internet and using scientific methods.

Contents of the Course
Basic computer applications, Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms PowerPoint and Ms Outlok, basic use of the Internet, practical Internet applications, using computer technologies effectively in scientific research processes, definition and importance of scientific research, research ethics and scientific integrity principles, stages of the research process (problem definition, literature review, hypothesis formulation, academic databases and data collection, analysis and result evaluation), qualitative and quantitative research methods and data collection techniques, scientific report writing, presentation and poster preparation techniques.
