| MDML7146 | Management of Cyanide Leaching Wastes | 3+0+0 | ECTS:7.5 | | Year / Semester | Fall Semester | | Level of Course | Third Cycle | | Status | Elective | | Department | DEPARTMENT of MINING ENGINEERING | | Prerequisites and co-requisites | None | | Mode of Delivery | | | Contact Hours | 14 weeks - 3 hours of lectures per week | | Lecturer | Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Elif YILMAZ | | Co-Lecturer | | | Language of instruction | Turkish | | Professional practise ( internship ) | None | | | | The aim of the course: | | Mining activities are carried out as a whole, including the ore enrichment process. The use of cyanide, especially in the recovery of gold from ores, has been one of the most effective and common methods of this process. Since gold is an increasingly valuable mineral, the importance of cyanide used in the recovery of this mineral will continue for many years. Due to its low cost and simple chemical structure, cyanide is expected to continue to be used as a sustainable solution in the ore processing industry. In this context, it is of great importance for graduate students in the Division of Mineral & Coal Processing to develop a sound knowledge of the technical details and environmental impacts of this process. ?Management of Cyanide Leach Tailings? lecture aims to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge on the safe management of cyanide leach tailings and to develop solutions to environmental problems encountered in the mining industry. This course will enhance the students' competencies to develop innovative solutions in this field by adopting industrial practices and environmental sustainability principles related to the management of cyanide tailings. The lecture aim to provide students with not only theoretical knowledge but also practical skills in industrial applications and waste management processes. Translated with DeepL.com (free version) Thus, this lecture will contribute to the adaptation of students to current and future demands in the sector b |
