The aim of the course:
Regional Planning and approaches; The River basin history and types; sustainability in regional plannind and the River basin; The River Basin as a unit of planning and management, The impact of urban and regional characteristics on basins; River basin development plants and management: socioeconomical characteristics, land use, pollution sources, characteristics of pollution, water quality, legal and administrative issues; Cooperation and public participation for watershed development and integrated River Basin management; Examples of national and international practice.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :

Evaluation of planning approachs of regional planning and river basin planning, that take place in planning hierarchy, and techniques used in river basin management.
