| MLAB2006 | Environmental Analysis. | 3+0+2 | ECTS:5 | | Year / Semester | Spring Semester | | Level of Course | Short Cycle | | Status | Compulsory | | Department | DEPARTMENT of CHEMISTRY and CHEMICAL PROCESS TECHNOLOGY | | Prerequisites and co-requisites | None | | Mode of Delivery | | | Contact Hours | 14 weeks - 3 hours of lectures and 2 hours of laboratory per week | | Lecturer | Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Onur Tolga OKAN | | Co-Lecturer | Prof. Dr. Volkan Numan BULUT | | Language of instruction | Turkish | | Professional practise ( internship ) | None | | | | The aim of the course: | | This course teaches students environmental impact assessment, monitoring, and evaluation techniques. Additionally, it examines the sources of environmental pollution and their effects on environmental health, equipping students with knowledge and skills to identify and address environmental problems. Through this course, students learn measurement methods for environmental parameters and use environmental analysis tools to assess environmental risks. Furthermore, it provides practical experience in collecting, preparing, and analyzing various environmental samples. Students also learn laboratory techniques for identifying sources of environmental pollution and assessing their impacts, particularly in analyzing common environmental samples such as water, air, soil, and waste using specialized equipment and techniques. Emphasis is also placed on quality control and assurance, ensuring students acquire skills to obtain accurate and reliable results. |
