The aim of the course:
to equip students with fundamental Russian language skills; to support their ability to use linguistic and literary knowledge, develop an interdisciplinary perspective, and communicate effectively in different collaborative and professional contexts.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : communicate at a basic level in both spoken and written Russian by using fundamental grammatical structures.1 - 2 - 31,

Contents of the Course
The course covers the Russian alphabet, basic grammatical structures, and practices aimed at developing reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills. Language use is reinforced through simple texts, and various activities are conducted to enhance students communicative competence.
 
Course Syllabus

 Week 1Introduction and dissemination of the course syllabus. Explanation of the course objectives and learning outcomes. Presentation of course materials. Writing and pronunciation of the Russian alphabet.
 Week 2Demonstration of Russian cursive handwriting and practice exercises, on the grounds that it is regarded as an almost obligatory standard in everyday use and formal correspondence.
 Week 3Introduction of Russian greetings; initiation of vocabulary development.
 Week 4Instruction of structures for asking names and expressing gratitude.
 Week 5Development of basic dialogue skills; pronunciation practice based on frequently used vocabulary.
 Week 6Practice of asking and answering questions using the interrogative forms who and what; vocabulary development through occupational inquiry exercises.
 Week 7Instruction of Russian possessive pronouns and related practice activities.
 Week 8Presentation of Russian personal pronouns and their usage; Russian verb conjugations; comprehensive review of all topics prior to the exam.
 Week 9Mid-Term Exam
 Week 10Review of exam questions and comprehensive revision of the covered topics; introduction of the family theme and construction of theme-based dialogues.
 Week 11Practice on the declension of Russian singular and plural personal pronouns according to masculine, feminine, and neuter nouns. Vocabulary expansion activities. Analysis of dialogues containing the question whose? .Reading the text My Family and answering comprehension questions.
 Week 12Introduction to and practice of the use of basic-level Russian verbs in the present tense, past tense, and future tense.
 Week 13Introduction to Russian numerals, focusing on their orthographic forms (spelling), pronunciation, and contextual usage.
 Week 14Introduction to basic mathematical expressions and operations, including addition (+), subtraction (?), and the use of related numerical vocabulary. Communicative practice focusing on asking and answering questions about time, days of the week, and dates, including the structures What time is it?, What day is it today?, and When?
 Week 15Introduction to basic formulaic expressions and communicative conventions used in everyday spoken and written interaction. Learning and practicing common expressions related to current social and cultural occasions, such as holiday and festival greetings, congratulations, and well-wishes.
