The course aims to develop skills in accurate reading, formal analysis, and recognition of rhetorical techniques in classical texts, thereby preparing students for advanced textual commentary and interpretation courses. |

| The course begins with the general characteristics and basic concepts of Old Turkish Literature. It then focuses on poetic forms such as ghazal, kaside, mesnevi, rubâ`î, and musammat forms. The origin of aruz prosody, its adaptation into Turkish, fundamental rules, and rhythmic harmony are explained, followed by practical applications of various metrical patterns. In the second part, rhetorical and stylistic devices: such as metaphor, simile, allegory, wordplay, allusion, and poetic rivalry?are examined through a systematic classification. |
