The aim of the course:
The course aims to review the all kinds of thermal machinery from the technical viewpoints. The main topic of this course is based on the reciprocating internal combustion engines. The knowledge about the construction, main engine elements and fundamental operating systems of these engines are given. After this period, operating cycles of four-stroke and two-stroke engines are analyzed and calculation methods of engine operating cycles is given. In this course, the engine cycle is considered to be an air-standard cycle. Finally, calculation of engine performance parameters is given.

LO - 5 : do various numerical examples for operating cycles and engine characteristics such as indicated work, mean indicated pressure, mean brake power, effective efficiency, specific fuel consumption3 - 7 - 111,
