The aim of the course:
To obtain reliable information on the principles of environmental chemistry .
 
Learning OutcomesCTPOTOA
Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : Students are able to learn a lot of information about the importance of environmental chemistry and experimental basis for understanding and comprehension .
LO - 2 : Students will be numerical and logical problems in this approach and be able to demonstrate practical skills in environmental chemistry techniques.
LO - 3 : Students discuss about water and air quality parameters.
CTPO : Contribution to programme outcomes, TOA :Type of assessment (1: written exam, 2: Oral exam, 3: Homework assignment, 4: Laboratory exercise/exam, 5: Seminar / presentation, 6: Term paper), LO : Learning Outcome

 
Contents of the Course
Introduction to environmental chemistry , atmospheric composition , photochemical and chemical reactions , global warming, greenhouse effect, photochemical smog, acid rain, smog and air pollution , determination of air quality and water pollution, determination of water quality , soil pollutions and chemistry, voice and noise pollution, nuclear pollutions and chemistry.
