The aim of the course:
The aim of this course is to introduce the concepts of health physics.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : gain knowledge about the use of physics in the field of health.5 - 61,

LO - 3 : will gain knowledge about the use of radiation in healthcare and radiation protection.2 - 5 - 61,

Contents of the Course
Atomic and nuclear structure and properties, radioactivity, radiation classification, radiation sources, radiation units, interactions of radiation with matter, radiation dose and dose equivalent, external radiation dose resulting from beta emission, external radiation dose resulting from X and gamma radiation, internal radiation dose resulting from radionuclides , radiation detection, biological effects of radiation, radiation dosimetry, protection of people from radiation.
