The aim of the course:
to furnish students with a general knowledge on historical development of architecture and to research reasons of it according to the historical periods.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : summarise the general architectural characteristics of various historical periods.5 - 61
LO - 2 : define various main architectural periods in the world.5 - 61
LO - 3 : define the architectural characteristics of Anatolian civilizitions.5 - 61
LO - 4 : define the general architectural characteristics of 16th Century and especially Mimar Sinan's works in Ottoman architectural period.5 - 61
LO - 5 : recognise the main historical buildings in Trabzon.5 - 63

Contents of the Course
Architecture of pre-historic period, Mesopotamia architecture, Egypt erchitecture, Greek architecture, Roma architecture, Byzantine architecture, Gothic rachitecture, Renaissance architecture, Barok architecture, Seljuk and Ottoman architectural periods in Anatolia.
