The aim of the course:
Aim of the course is to improve the writing skills of scientific research of students.

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
PO - 1 : gain information about the project support sources1,3,4
PO - 2 : having knowledge about scientific statements and how to sellect a research topic
PO - 3 : informing important points of about how to plan a research Project
PO - 4 : learn how to share the outcomes and documents of a research Project
PO - 5 : learn the important points of different strategies about how to write a research purposal
PO - 6 : learn about the common rejection reasons, and succes strategies

Contents of the Course
The statements (ie. knowledge, science, scientific research, scientific events, experiences about scientific research) which are necessary to know before starting the preparation of the Project will be thought; after this, selection of a research topic of importance to the profession, identification of an appropriate theory / hypothesis base for the research, planning the purposed study, documentation and analysis of the results of the study will be discussed; students will practice how to write a research Project; Project samples which were accepted and rejected by TUBITAK will be discussed to improve the skills of students.

 Week 1Introduction, objectives, targets and contents. General description of the TUBITAK ARDEB programmes, Why the TUBITAK project should be written and be applied on? Description of the TUBITAK research database.
 Week 2Some fundamental scientific concepts (knowledge, science, scientific research and types, scientist, researcher, etc.). The choice of the research topics. Determination of the hypothesis or problem. Factors affecting to establish hypothesis.
 Week 3Literature search, research methods, data sources, The importance and necessity of literature. Strategies for literature. Group activity (determination of the project topic using by keywords).
 Week 4Continue to group activity (writing project summary, purpose and targets). Preparation of personal projects
 Week 5Research planning. Importance and stages of planning. Continue to group activity (writing the project subject, scope and literature).
 Week 6Originality of the project subject. Establishment of the project management scheme, Design of the project work-packages, determination of the project team. Continue to group activity (writing the project originality and management scheme).
 Week 7Analysis and documentation of the research results. Reporting and publishing (development and final reports). Introducing the scientific, technologic and socio-cultural impacts
 Week 8Preparation of the project work-time schedule. Determining the budget and justification. Alternative methods (B plan). Explaining the success criteria. Continue to group activity (writing the project work-time schedule, budget and justification, and alternative methods).
 Week 9Evaluation of the group projects
 Week 10Scientific ethic and ethical issues. Continue to group activity
 Week 11Introducing the TUBITAK panel and panellist process.
 Week 12Presentations of the group projects and their evaluation process
