The aim of the course:
Caries prevalence and oral hygiene motivation of children in Turkey; self-appliance of fluoride and fluoride prescriptions; toxicology of fluoride prevention of caries and hipoplasia are the contents of the program. Dental and oral health of community and relationship orthodontics. Index system to determine the periodontal conditions in large populations, necessary procedures for periodontal health in the community, various procedures for prevention from periodontal diseases, epidemiology in dentistry, relationship between general health and mouth - dental care. Basic properties that fixed prosthetic restorations should have; effects on oral microflora; effects of before prosthesis, after prosthesis and construction stages on periodontal health. Maintanence and cleaning of prosthesis, oral hygiene, importance of the remainig supportive teeth in the mouth. Prosthesis usage and geriatrics, maintanence of prosthesis and care of hygiene, importance of nutrition in old patient. Introduction to Oral Cancer, Early diagnostic techniques, incidence of oral cancer at different societies, most frequent types

Upon successful completion of the course, the students will be able to :
LO - 1 : competent at improving the oral health of children, families and groups in the community. 1
LO - 2 : learn of the educational procedures about periodontal diseases and preventive approaches for persons and community and relationship between periodontal diseases and general health 1
LO - 3 : acquire information about taking care of the oral conditions of the individuals in treatment planning and the possible effects of the performed treatment. 1
LO - 4 : know the drawbacks of bad made total and partial prosthesis, which precautions are necessary to take and the maintanence of prosthesis should be known
LO - 5 : recognise the old patient and to treat this geriatrics patient in a different way 1
LO - 6 : diagnose and manage of oral cancer and epidemiology of oral cancer 1

Contents of the Course
Defining the importance of oral health, caries prevalence of children in our country, community oral health, preventive dental approaches, mother and child nutrition in prevention of caries, incidence and prevention of hypoplasia, prevention and restoration of discoloured teeth. To teach the importance of protective dentistry and protective dentistry applications To assist the integration of clinical and social skills of health care professionals and motivate them to act as health care professional caring for the community as well as individuals. Our school have adopted a multidisciplinary approach using personnel from different departments To instruct about the alterations caused by fixed prosthetic restorations in oral medium and the precautions. The reasons of the bad results caused by partial and total prosthesis in oral medium and teeth, the maintanence and hygiene of prosthesis. To instruct the dentistry students about geriatrics subject. Teaching the early diagnostic techniques of oral cancer and incidence of oral cancer
