The aim of the course:
To teach the structural biology of periodontium, etiology and epidemiology of periodontal disease, the influence of the local and systemic factors on periodontium, the pathogenesis, diagnosis and classification of periodontal diseases

Contents of the Course
Beginning to periodontology, the importance of periodontology, morphology and histology of the gingiva, alveolar bone morphology and histology, periodontal ligament, cementum, classification of periodontal diseases, epidemiology of periodontal diseases, oral biofilm and calculus, periodontal microbiology, immunity and inflammation host-microbial interaction, gingival diseases in childhood, acute gingival infections, defense mechanisms of the gingiva, gingival inflammation, desquamative gingivitis, the periodontal pocket, bone loss and patterns of bone destruction, systemic disorders and periodontitis, diagnosis and treatment protocols in periodontal disease, plaque control
