To understand the mechanism of caries, etiology of dental caries, the relationship between nutrition and caries, To teach the diagnosis and classification of caries, To teach dental cements, cavity varnishes and liners, properties of amalgam and intraoral applications, To comprehend the principles of basic adhesion.
