Biochemical reactions take place in every living organism. Thus, the main objective of the biochemistry discipline is to enlighten these reactions at system, tissue, cell and molecular levels. This course aims to teach the students basic concepts in biochemistry and to introduce the general structure and function of macromolecules, namely protein, carbohydrate and lipid. Through the course, the metabolism of these macromolecules will also be discussed so that the students will be able to analyze and intepret basic biochemical reactions in order to understand the living organism at the molecular level. |
